In magical Porto, Portugal, city that renowned its historical heritage to craftsmanship, where the two-day luxury design event will present an famous line-up of influential speakers to provide a memorable debate and informed conversation for all those who seek know more Dining room ideas from Luxury Design World, what comes to inspiring speeches and live acts.

Opening event will take a place at Pavilhão Multiusos de Gondomar, designed by Pritzker Winners, Architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, on the 20th of June with the live act by Master artisans of azulejo, wood and other forms of ancient crafts. Gondomar is more then perfect place to host the First Edition of this Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit, because it’s a city recognized for its love and dedication to craftsmanship in the jewelry industry.

The first panel of summit is dedicated to The Value of Craftsmanship for the Luxury Design World will present real case studies that are translating the meaning of exclusivity and authenticity. The day will be closed by Gondomar’s Mayor itself, Marco Martins with a Port of Honor.

On the last day of summit, on the 21st of June, two panels will be presented: “Design as a Driving force for Local Craftsmanship”, is where you can have chance to take a look into the rise of the Designer-Maker, a journey from all the way from the past towards a new inspiring cultural progress to promote creativity and innovation, while showing respect towards traditions and guarding safely the heritage. The closing last panel of event will be “Luxury Branding: The Behind the Scenes Story” and it will have debate the connection between the heritage techniques and its usage for the most recent marketing campaigns of world´s leading luxury brands, what comes to s and other products.

As about speakers of last day, the following speakers are: Michaelangelo Foundation, an international non-profit organisation, that celebrates and preserves master craftsmanship and strengthens its connection to the world of design; Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva, a foundation created with the objective of protecting and disseminating the Portuguese Decorative Arts and the handicrafts related to them; Luís Onofre, designer of luxury shoes and accessories and President of APICCAPS; Vista Alegre, the oldest porcelain factory in the Iberian Peninsula; Topázio, a Portuguese company with more than 140 years of history, expert in the creation and production of unique designed hand-carved silver; Boca do Lobo, Portuguese brand of furniture-art design recognized for its unique and innovative designs of dining room pieces and other wonderful pieces.

Event itself is organized in association with Thinkers & Makers Foundation, whose mission is to celebrate and honor the craftsmanship and every single person who creates soulful pieces with their own hands. According the organization, “A unique new Summit dedicated to exploring the increasingly crucial nexus between luxury and craftsmanship as essential components to inject a new verve into the design world.”
